Amazon aStore - embeddable affiliate store
February 14th, 2007 | Filed in Commerce |
Amazon affiliates can now embed an “aStore” widget (iFrame) store within a web page.
The embedded store is fairly wide and there does not appear to be options for changing the width, so many will have to create unique pages or link off-site to the Amazon hosted page.
Here’s our Widgetoko aStore.

Hi john harper,
Once you complete the setup of your Amazon aStore, there are three options provided.
1. Link to your aStore as a stand-alone site. This basically just links off to another webpage. This is what we did in the original post. Widgetoko aStore
2. Embed your aStore using an inline frame. Amazon provides a snippet of code to place on your webpage which loads your aStore into an iFrame.
3. Integrate your aStore using a frameset. The frameset makes the aStore appear to be on your website. Technically not a whole lot different than option 2 above.
The following screen capture is from our aStore configuration page showing the option to create an iFrame code snippet.

Widgets come in many flavors which could include iFrame, Flash, <script>, html and even a simple <img> could be considered a widget (given the purpose).
The aStore “widget” is iFrame based.
